2023 was a great year for grant disbursement. The biggest project the Foundation worked on was the Monroe Landing Field Improvement project where we dispersed 16,000 dollars to the local club to spearhead a full renovation of the landing field to enable hang gliders to have a massive landing field as well as for paragliders to have more space during the large events that are run there every year.
The US Hang Gliding and Paragliding teams were supported by having all their entry fees covered for World Meets.
The Foundation also awarded Logan Walters with 1,000 dollars toward his effort in the Red Bull XAlps.
The Rochester Area Flyers applied for and were awarded a grant to get a shipping container storage facility built which cost around 4,000 dollars.
The Green Swamp Sport Classic competition was awarded 1,200 dollars to support Hang Gliding competition towing fees to make the competition more accessible to more pilots.
The FFF also paid property taxes for the Salida flying site for 2022 so that the club could form a non-profit and take over the administration of a future flying site.
It was a great year of supporting free flight in North America. If you or someone you know has a project that could use our help please reach out and if you can spare any funds to support projects like these please donate!
