The Monroe LZ project helped raise funding for the expansion and beautification of the Monroe, Utah landing zone. Contributions went towards removing hazards like ruts and rocks, adding fill dirt, expanding and maintaining grass, and installing lights and a grill in the pavilion for pilots to enjoy.

Not only did these improvements ensure hang glider pilots have a safe place to land during their annual Nationals, they now enable paraglider pilots with freedom to land safely in more wind speeds, wind directions, and during high traffic times like the Red Rocks Fly In. Since we all love to fly until sunset, the new lights and grill are a welcome addition to relive flights with fellow pilots over some grub!

The Foundation for Free Flight put up $16,000 of available matching funds to help complete the effort to improve the landing zone, and worked with the famously friendly locals of the City of Monroe, Utah to preserve the legacy of free flight for years to come. Thank you to all who donated to this great cause!
